Admiring: My pretty new hobo bag I bought yesterday because I GOT PROMOTED!
Beating myself up about: Letting my child watch Courage the Cowardly Dog. I can see his brain cells die every time it comes on.
Crying over: Everything. Always. My chromosome's demand it.
Daydreaming about: Lounging in bed all day in warm PJ's reading a good book and drinking wine
Excited because: I GOT PROMOTED!!!
Frustrated because: I can't get my lazy non cleaning ass in gear and straighten out my dresser
Grumpy because: It's Thursday. Not wonderful, paycheck getting, get to sleep in tomorrow Friday.
Hate-filled and seething over: The fact that I attract stupid people.
Indignant because: My MIL is harping over the fact that my shit's broken and I'm not knocked up yet. Bite me old woman.
Just shoot me now because: I have to train my replacement tomorrow. See above comment about stupid people.
Kidding myself regarding: The size 4 jeans in my closet
Listening to: Ellen. She cracks my shit up.
Mooning over: Pictures of adorable kitten's my husband will never let me have. Butthead.
Need: A haircut. Badly.
Obsessing over: Mucous and morning temps
Praying: That I won't have to take my temp at 2:45 every morning for too damn much longer
Questioning: My ability to NOT cry when my new boss screams at me like he does everyone else
Reading: Something by the guy who wrote The Prince of Tides. It was suggested to me and it's taken me so long to get thorough it I may declare it a coaster instead of a novel.
Singing: Bumblebees... Thunder Chief..... (Courtesy of a coworker. It's Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap you blithering idiot!)
Trying: To get that GODDAMNED SONG out of my HEAD.
Unnerved by: This. Just…yeah.
Valentiney Update: I got my husband a kick ass coyote decoy and if the bastard's don't get it here in time I'm kicking some one's ass!
Wondering: When MIL is bringing the by home. I miss him
X-rated action: Right. Please see entry O.
Yawning over: The fact that I got up at 2:45 am. Except it was really 2:30 b/c my possessed alarm clock decided it would fast forward its self.
Zoinks: This seemed like a good idea when I started

I survived
I am an industrial engineer for your friendly brown parcel delivery service. During peak season I am their bitch. I loaded 1400 packages in 5 hours this morning. The madness is over. Peak season has ended. I no longer have to work 16 hour days. I will no longer be expected to survive on vending machine fair and 3 hours of sleep. I. Am. Free.
Now for an update- My grandfather passed on December 4th. Had he lived 6 more days he would have been 74 years old. He was not sick. He had no high blood pressure, no high cholesterol, no heart condition. He came home and fell asleep in his recliner and didn't wake up. My dad, who lives with him, found him at 6:15pm with the phone book in his lap, his thumb still marking the last page he was looking at. I will miss him dearly. He taught me many things. Things like "You can be right, or you can be happy. Sometimes you have to decide which is more important." He taught me how a man should treat his wife. Jack Podge and Joyce Ray were married on June 12, 1954, one month after her high school graduation. She had never kissed another boy. A year and a half later, to the day, my father, Jack Jr. was born. Two years later his brother, Jeff, was born. I am the oldest of three grandchildren and the only girl. My two cousins, my uncle's boys, have both grown to be fine men. My Granny left us on April 18, 2000. My Poppa's soul left with her that day, leaving us with only a shell of who he was. I believe, with all of my being, that they were a rare example of soul mates. I've not seen two people so deeply devoted to one another since. He's been waiting to be with her. Since she's been gone he's watched all three of his grandchildren graduate high school and college. He's watched two of us get married. He got to meet his first great grandchild and got to know the woman who is about to give birth to his second. And through it all, he wanted to be with her. He loved us, I've no doubt about that. He tried his best to live the remainder of his life with the same gusto he got through the first half with. But that spark in his eyes was gone. The lust for life, extinguished. He is with her now. They are happy. I'm not sad for him, I'm sad for me. I will miss him. I will mourn the loss of my child in getting to know this great pioneer. However the last time I talked to him, two days before he passed, he told me how much he loved my husband. What a good man he thought he was. He told me all the things I needed to do to "keep that boy around." I will Poppa. I will love him the same way I watch you love Granny. I will make you proud, in the way I live my life, the way I nurture my marriage, the way I raise my son. And I will know that you and Granny are sitting on the bank of a catfish pond in heaven laughing and holding hands talking about what a great life you had. We will all do our very best to honour you. I love you both very much and I hope to see you someday.

Why I do believe I feel faint
So I passed out at work. Nothing gets the attention of two dozen men faster than a woman fainting. I'm hypoglycemic and I'm usually pretty good about watching my sugar and eating on time. Today I was not so good at it. My bosses freaked out and made me go home. In fact not only did they make me go home they made my husband come and get me. *sigh* Liability is a pain in my ass.
I went to the doctor and since I was going anyway I asked him to write me a note saying it was OK for me to return to work. After a severe ass eating over my choice of breakfast foods (chocolate doughnut) he wrote me the note and told me to tell my boss that if I let it happen again he shouldn't send me home he should feed me crackers and slap the snot out of me. That the kind of medical advice you can only get from a man who's known your family for 20 years.
So that was my eventful day. Here's to a boring Wednesday!

At what point....
Does a lack of sleep start to kill brain cells? I love my job. I do. But getting up at 2:45 am to be at work by 4 and then not getting to bed until 9 is killing me. So I took a nap. And now I feel lazy. *sigh* I must keep telling my self that it's OK if the laundry doesn't get done rightthisinstant.
This also happens to be the Week Of Birthdays! Joy. Nanny and (Great) Aunt Pearl were 79 yesterday. Fraternal twins names Addy Muriel and Abby Pearl. Yeah they weren't thrilled either. I went to get nanny's birthday present yesterday and was so focused on seeing he this Saturday that I forgot to call her on her *actual* birthday. How stupid am I?
FIL's 65th birthday is Thursday. He isn't taking it well. In fact he's taking it exactly the opposite of well. He and his wife hate each other and don't understand that being married 37 years but sleeping in different bedrooms for the last 25 so you don't kill each other does NOT constitute a "successful" marriage. I hope to hell we don't have to have a family dinner. Between MIL and LazySIL (My own personal HandoutQueen)and her 4 whiny kids I'll do good not to kill someone.
Sunday is hubby's 36th birthday and also my (Great) Aunt Esther's birthday. Everyone is in town for the yearly family reunion (is that a southern thing? I never hear about anyone else having them) on Saturday so I got the two aunts photo albums and a cards and I got the SuperGrandma a picture frame with a verse from Philippians's on it and a place to record your voice. I'm going to put a pic of her and Remington in it and have him record "I love you Nanny!" I got Ed a card but I'm never sure what to get him for his birthday. He says nothing and the things he does want I certainly can't afford with my paycheck. *sigh* I'm sure I'll think of something.
The only downside to the reunion is that it's scheduled on OU/Texas weekend. Blasphemy!
